I am a student at the University of Northern Colorado and have created this blog for my English class. I am a history major and a huge history geek, something that makes me feel a tad out of place in an upper level English class that seems to be full of English majors. I like to write research papers with a thesis supporting paragraphs and a conclusion that reiterates the thesis. I don't really enjoy freewriting or creative writing, I like to know my topic, do the research and then sit down to write the paper (not in a meadow or surrounded by nature like Thoreau). I'm a little worried about this class and the style of writing expectations, but I'm willing to try anything and will attempt to have an open mind in the hopes that the class will improve my writing ability. I am not used to blogging either, the only blog I have ever written was for my job this summer, which was a little scary because I was an intern and the rest of the people blogging had Doctorates (yikes!).  If you would like to read this blog the link is http://blog.americanhistory.si.edu/osaycanyousee/intern_perspectives/ (and I know I really am a history fanatic)

Thanks for reading and I looked forward to reading everyone else's blogs.

and you’re gonna do fine. you don’t have to like creative writing to do well in this course. you just have to like to work. :)
